technical Communication

Delight your customers with consistent experiences at every touchpoint and stage of their journey.

Let's talk

What We Do

Our writing translates technical information into accurate, understandable language targeted to meet the needs of your audience.

From technical writing and training manuals to marketing collateral and web site content — dynamic, clear writing that gets positive results.

We get to know your products, processes, and software, so we can achieve your long-term goals, and you don’t have to worry about your technical content needs again.

We reframe technical content as informational content. From product features and their functions to product specifications From quick-start guides to the micro-instructions found in app interfaces From chatbot instructions to online tutorials The aim is to break down the artificial barriers between acquisition (sales) and retention (post-sales), and between brand awareness (marketing) and brand loyalty (customer retention).

How We Can Help

We provide an exceptional technical content partnership experience with the unique advantages of a consultative approach.

We can be your single-source solution for any outsourced writing project or act as an extension of your in-house team, providing consultation and execution to speed up your project delivery and help keep your costs in line.

We can align your technical and marketing content across all dimensions — design, style, terminology, taxonomy, search, and so on — to ensure a seamless, consistent user experience and branding at every touchpoint and stage of the customer journey.

This means eliminating jarring contradictions between typical pre-sales content (sales and marketing) and typical post-sales content (support, training, and technical content).

The Convergence of Technical and Marketing Communication

The distinction between marketing communications and technical communications is far less pronounced than it once was. Both are generated for the same end users, just at different points in the product adoption lifecycle.

Being that we are often dealing with a lot of technical content, but also creating marketing communications, we’re in a good position to see how very little difference there is between them.

Pre-sales content (marketing content) is increasingly focussed on providing enough technical details so potential buyers can make an informed decision. The days of glossy but vacuous marketing content are coming to an end because buyers insist on making a more informed decision before purchasing. Content is usually publicly available, as is the feedback and opinions from existing customers. Which means everyone will know both, what you do well and where you need to improve the experience.

Post-sales content (technical content), while always focused on providing enough technical details to use the product, is now evolving to provide more useful information based on business goals, is presented in a more usable way, and made available in a helpful format.

This technical content is more and more becoming a part of the pre-sales research consumers do. They make purchasing decisions based on research which includes watching videos of your products in action, reading customer reviews, comparing reference information, learning concepts, and getting to know how well you document tasks they may have to perform.

What you write matters more than ever. How you manage it becomes mission critical to business success.

So, why stop at considering marketing as part of technical communications (or vice versa) only?

Content that provides support and content that provides training must be consistent as well. All communications about a product must support and enhance the entire user experience, from pre-sales to learning to long-term use.

End users don’t distinguish between the source of content they experience — you should be aiming for a seamless, coherent experience for them.
